Details of Previous Workshops

The art classes take place in large, airy rooms and outdoor working space and The atmosphere is friendly.

The courses and workshops are conducted by professional tutors and eminent artists who give individual attention and guidance to all levels of ability as well as class demonstrations and exercises. Each course focuses on one subject or technique.

These mini-courses cover a wide variety of media and subjects, either to try new techniques or improve in their chosen media. the aim is to create enough confidence for participants to be able to continue work on their own on completion of their course and provide the basic knowledge for those who wish to join some full time course or pursue art education.

A materials list is provided before each workshop. all material for the metal casting will be provided. a space will be provided to the participants for art made during the workshop to be on display, we will be calling connoisseurs and people from art fields

All art work can then be taken home by the participants the workshop timings and details as well as fees structure:

Art Introduction

10th April

This workshop features a lectures and slide-show focused on the greatest movements in art history. it is an introduction to art in general plus information on the different workshops that will be conducted. Free workshop for all to attend .. open invitation

Painting and Drawing

12th – 21st April

This workshop covers painting in water colour, acrylics, pastel, charcoal as well as focuses on drawing skills.

Demonstrations and exercises with a full painting being completed covering the use of materials, basic techniques of laying a wash, colour mixing, tonal awareness and composition.

Terracotta

22nd April -1st May

In this workshop the tutor will demonstrate joining techniques and methods of decorating and adding detail by different methods and will cover clay modeling and technical knowledge about firing etc.

Metal Sculpture

3rd -13th May

An opportunity to learn and make you own sculptural pieces by working alongside the”dokhras” of West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh who belong to a tribal group of that area, who, for some reason, took to the road a few hundred years ago. it is is one of the oldest crafts. Instruction and guidance will also be provided by contemporary sculptors. Model making, mold making, casting and finishing techniques will be coverd at this workshop

Art Appreciation

15th -16th May

An introduction to contemporary art, new media, installations and slide-show on contemporary artists.

14th – 15th – 16th : display of work (work available on sale to people)

Timing : 8a.m. to 12 a.m.

 

Venue : C.N College of Fine Arts

Dates: workshop will be closed on Sundays

Age criteria: 18 – 35

11th April -a free day to let people who attend the art introduction join up for the workshop forms will be available (forms will be available until the last workshop begins)

14 th May – free day to arrange display of completed work and finishing process for sculptures
